Nadeem Sadiq Sheikh (FRSC MRACI CCHEM) is Associate Professor of Organic Chemistry within Chemical Sciences at the Universiti Brunei Darussalam.
Nadeem received his PhD (2008) in Organic Chemistry from the University of Southampton, UK under the supervision of Prof. Richard C. D. Brown for his thesis “Steroeselective oxidative cyclisations of 1,5,9-trienes; Synthetic studies towards eurylene”. He then moved to the laboratory of Prof. Iain Coldham at the University of Sheffield, UK to take up EPSRC funded postdoctoral position (2008-2011) and started working in the area of “Efficient asymmetric synthesis by dynamic resolution of organolithiums”. In 2011, he started his independent academic career and joined King Faisal University, Saudi Arabia as Assistant Professor of Organic Chemistry where he was promoted to Associate Professor in 2017. He moved to Brunei in January 2022 where he is serving in his current role. He is a Fellow of the Royal Society of Chemistry (UK) and a Member Chartered Chemist of the Royal Australian Chemical Institute (Australia).
In his spare time, he enjoys spending time with his family, walking in nature, exploring cultural richness and participating in philanthropism.
